Food and service was fantastic! Each dish was unique and creative, unlike anything we’ve tried before. Service was attentive and explained each dish as this was a new cuisine for us. Highly recommend

One of the highlights of dining at Restaurante Mumis is their extensive and diverse menu. It’s packed with local Costa Rican dishes that are made with the freshest ingredients, as well as international options that bring new flavors to the table. The restaurant’s commitment to quality is evident in every dish. Take, for instance, their famous "casado" - a traditional Costa Rican meal that combines rice, beans, salad, and meat (often chicken or beef). It’s not only tasty but beautifully presented, which shows the attention to detail they put into every plate.
But it’s not just the classic dishes that stand out. Restaurante Mumis also excels with its fusion offerings. The seafood dishes are particularly noteworthy, with fresh fish and shellfish prepared in ways that blend traditional Costa Rican techniques with international influences. A perfect example is their ceviche, which is light and zesty, made with local fish and complemented by a tangy, citrusy dressing that refreshes the palate.
If you’re in the mood for something more substantial, their steaks and grilled meats are an excellent choice. The "costilla de res" (beef ribs) is a crowd favorite. It's tender and perfectly cooked, paired with flavorful sides that make for a filling meal. For vegetarians, there are plenty of plant-based options that are equally satisfying. From fresh salads to veggie-packed pastas, the restaurant doesn’t leave anyone out when it comes to variety.
What also sets Restaurante Mumis apart is its commitment to sustainable dining practices. The restaurant works with local suppliers to source fresh, high-quality ingredients. This not only supports local farmers and businesses but also ensures that the meals are of the highest possible standard. The importance of sustainability is woven into every aspect of their business, from food sourcing to waste management, which makes every meal feel even more special.
In terms of drinks, Restaurante Mumis offers a range of options that pair beautifully with their menu. The cocktail list is well-curated, with both classic drinks and unique concoctions that highlight local spirits. The wine list, too, features a selection of wines that complement the various dishes, making it a great choice for those looking to pair their meal with a perfect glass of wine.

I had the pleasure of eating at this place yesterday. It was really good, with a very interesting mix of Peruvian and Italian cuisine. I highly recommend it. The drinks are amazing as well — 10/10. Our server, Julian, was extraordinary.
This is a beautiful place set in among the trees, with a great atmosphere and impeccable food. Everything we had was well crafted, from their specialty cocktails, appetizers, entrées all the way thru dessert. Service was personal and perfect. Incredible quality for a very reasonable price. A true gem for Santa Ana.
Superb cuisine and great cocktails. This restaurant has wonderful decor and a well-stocked bar. It’s tucked away from the road and provides a private sanctuary for fine dining. The menu is limited but you feel like you want to try everything. Food was tasty especially their Ceviche Classico and Fettucine Huancaína con Lomito Saltado
The food was generally very good, highlighted by the tiraditos and the lomo saltado. Desserts were great (I think we got nearly all of them). We came early on a weekend and it was very quiet, which was a bonus.
Excellent food and service, lovely spot. The drinks were also great. The atmosphere is quiet and lowkey - great for small celebrations, date night, or night out with friends. We had made a reservation and were seated immediately even thought we arrived a few minutes early.
Mumis in Costa Rica offers excellent Peruvian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant features a diverse menu with traditional dishes like ceviche and lomo saltado, prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The friendly service and cozy decor ensure an unforgettable dining experience. Perfect for lovers of authentic Peruvian flavors.
Absolutely loved this place. From the moment you step in Mumis you know you're set up for a wonderful dining experience. Axel waited our table o the night and really appreciated his attention without being pushy, as well as how knowledgeable and helpful he was. Their gastronomic proposal is creative and i would have tried every single plate in the menu if I'd had the chance. In the pictures: We started the night with tequeños anticucheros, little bites from heaven, accompanied with cocktails. Then we had the classic Peruvian ceviche with perfectly fresh sea bass (corvina). Not in pictures: the osobuco cappellacci, uchucuta (risotto), and dessert (suspiro limeño). Both the osobuco cappellacci and the uchucuta are two of the most creative dishes that I've had lately without being over pretentious. From the presentation to the flavours, it was a wonderful experience for the palate. Finally, for the dessert we had to go a little bit suddenly than initially expected and they packed the suspiro limeño for us. It's not usual when a dish look as gorgeous in the takeaway box as it does when it's served, but they managed to that too! In short: do yourselves a favour and visit Mumis, not only you won't be disappointed but you'll want to go back every single time.
